gomini magazine...

ok well they are now on issue #5 and in the back of issue #4 it said that #5 would be on sale July 9th. well ive been searching for a place that sells the magazine in houston for the past 2 months and have had no luck. i was wondering first if anyone has gotten issue #5 yet. and i was wondering since it was out for a while does anyone know where i can buy it online here in north america. i know there is that place to order it from the uk but im not too comfortable ordering from across seas. has anyone ordered it from there and how long did it take to get here? i know people have seen it at selected borders and barnes and nobles but not here. i also know there are tower records stores that carry them but the closest one is 4 hours away. so can anyone help with where to buy here in the states? thanks in advance!!

Yes, I have issue #5. It has a convertible on the cover and an article about them inside.

I just order them individually from the website (based on the content I want to see) - no problems at all.

I want to know where the magazine is sold. I can't find a single store either in the States or in Europe. I went to about 20 large bookstores in about 5 countries in Europe including England, Wales and Scotland, and never found the magazine.

I wouldn't worry about ordering from the UK. I collect china and resin figurines that are mand in the UK, and have shipped both from the companies and from private individuals. Never had any problem. If you use a credit card, all the currency conversion is taken care of.

I purchased the first issue on-line, and subscribed after that. No problem using the "GOMINI" web site. Got the first issue within 10 days of placing the order, didn't miss an issue after that, when I subscribed. Interesting mag on the new MINI.

Can someone describe the magazine a little bit? Obviously it is about the new MINI, but what kind of articles and stories do they have? Is it a very technical magazine? In other words, is it loaded with techy articles on how to do mods and installations? I am not a person who will not be doing many mods to my MINI (maybe none!).. so will I still enjoy this magazine? I do like to read articles and stories about the MINI, and what people do with them... and I like to read a little bit about mods, but I won't read lenthy technical articles

Thanks!

I just ordered the August issue online.

Wouldn't some of the larger book stores order it in for you? I would think they could get it for a special request.

We have a small "news" store here. They sell only magazines, both international and US, and news papers from around the world. And on a side note... they have a coffee stand in the store that sell the best coffee around, yummy! I have seen it , and a couple other mini mags there so maybe you could see if you have a shop like that in your area. If not, ordering things internationally is not really difficult don't be frightened it will be a new experiance. If you are worried about the exchange rate, there are currancy calculators on line and you can find out exactly what you will be paying in US$.

Good luck.

Same here, I have the new issue, great story about a lad and his MINI, lots of adds like all magazines (but interesting ones at least). Well worth the money in my opinion.

Always glad to see it show up.

I have a subscription, and received issue 5 a couple of weeks ago.. I backordered issues 1-4 as well.. It's a great mag, not too technical, and some fun reviews of MINIs from around the UK and stateside. Also interviews with the Top Gear guys and so forth. Well worth it.. It's a niche mag, so it's more expensive than most, but I like it.

I have made good friends with the Magazine person at my local Books-a-Million (FL) where they carry some British car mags. All the mags they get are overstock from Europe and are usually a few months old. I aked her to see about getting GoMINI and she hasn't had any luck yet.

gomini magazine

I've found Go Mini at most Barnes and Nobles and Tower Records. I tried to Mini #4 using the promised on sale date as a guide and adding 7-10 days for it to hit US newstands and ended up finding that it was more like 15-21 days before it finally arrived at my local Barnes. Which would indicate that late this week or early next you should be able to find it on your newstand.

Good Luck,

Local B&N blew it!!

I pleaded and pleaded, checked and rechecked with the B&Ns in my area. One said they would be carrying GoMINI. I got excited and waited to renew my subscription so I could buy it from a local vendor. In the end, the local B&N said they, in fact, were NOT carrying it. That was it...I tried to work with those bozos and they blew it. So many local owners and B&N was soundly asleep at the switch. I renewed my substription and had issue #4 in days. I won't be going to the local bookstores much anymore.....they pissed me off.

ps...I LOVE the mag! A bit heavy on the mods for my taste but overall: stellar! I'd LOVE to see an article on the Dragon Run and on MINIclo's Spring Hot Flash!!!!

For mags Joe Muggs is the best store I've been in in any store stateside.

There's one in Atlanta--and it looks like a chain so I'm supposing that they're in other cities as well.

Anyone try to see if they have 'em? From what I've seen it's a great mag.

Jeff
