Hey Everyone!

Hey guys!

So after having my r53 for a little over a month, I figured it was about time to join an online community! Little about myself, my name's Nick, I'm currently a photojournalism student at Penn State, and total car nerd.

Anyways, on to the Mini! It's an '06 MCS, 6-speed, navi with 64k on the clock. After having Old bimmers and and old Audi, this is basically a brand new car to me, and I'm loving it so far. It's completely bone stock currently, but I definitely have plans to change that, but nothing too serious. For right now just the standard things, wheels, chip, intake, exhaust (I've really been checking out the Scorpion, that or a Borla, since I loved the one I had on my Audi). I did already order the aero mesh grills from ECS which should hopefully be here by the weekend.

Of course there's photos! (I haven't had the chance to take photos with a real camera yet, but that'll probably happen after the grills come in and I can give her a bath)

For some reason the flickr embed code wasn't working, and I couldn't upload them straight to the site, so check out the photos here

I do have two questions, first is more of a recommendation on some roof racks, and the second, well, its more of a recommendation on the supercharger pulleys.

Thanks!
Nick

I recommend a full package from WayMotorWorks. I bought one, and it's excellent stuff. It comes with a pulley of your choice (15, 16 or 17%) and a belt to suit along with colder range spark plugs that come with factory delivered JCW cars.

Welcome. You're about to find out the MINI is way different from your other cars.
We are happy to help you with any questions you have.

Since you're looking at pulleys check out our WMW pulley package.

Thanks for the input guys! so is there a noticeable difference between the different reduction percentages?

Also the grills came in today! It's freezing today, but I might try and get the top grill on, dumb me didn't do enough research and I didn't realize I needed to modify the bumper. Not a dealbreaker, but it'll just have to be on my to-do list when I go home for spring break. I'll definitely get a photo of the new grill once I get it on

1% difference between the pulleys :-) haha. Most people who drive on the street only go 17%...it runs a bit hotter than the 15% but is okay if you aren't constantly on it like you would be if it's a track car. I chose 15% although my cars never been on a track just to be a bit more conservative.

I think several vendors can quote out the HP difference but I don't know off the top of my head. Most people do not recommend going to 19% because the heat generated by the supercharger is too much and will actually offer worse performance...I am sure with a non stock inter cooler system you could pull it off but I haven't researched it.

The bottom grille can be a pain, I recently did one in the fall/winter so if you need help feel free to ask via pm. I'd go 16% on the pulley to make it an easy decision.
