I don't have mine yet, but it says it's at the distribution center. Does that count? It's been at that status on MiniUSA.com for a few days now. I'm getting nervous and excited. I only wonder if I'm making a good decision or if I should play it "better safe than sorry" and go for a Metro or something that is more practical and cheaper.

If you are that uncertain about your MINI...when it is almost yours...perhaps you DID get the wrong car. Why would a Metro be more practical...and what is so "safe" about one? Does the Metro have 6 standard airbags and a tough-as-a-tank chassis? I don't think so! Will you be delighted everytime you drive in your Metro like you will be in a MINI? I definitely do not think so! Relax and get ready to take delivery of a fantastic little vehicle that will give you incredible joy!

Post pics as soon as you get yours!

Well, according to this post at Motoringfile, the `05's were held up but they have started appearing at the dealers a few days back. We should see some out on the road soon.

Boge,

Are you still worried? Sit back & enjoy like Clo says. I've ordered my second MINI & have no regrets. Clo is on her 2nd one. They are great little cars & you get to meet a whole bunch of great people

I was at Crown MINI in Richmond VA this afternoon and there were 2 '05 MCS' sitting there. Looks like they'd just been unloaded as they still had all the packing stuff on/in them.

Better safe than sorry. I don't mean a safe car. I mean, maybe it's better to play it safe and spend a lot less money on a car that will get me from point A to point B. Isn't the the purpose of a vehicle anyway? I have had fun cars to drive and they are worlds above just an average commuter, but would I be better off buying a used sports car, or buying a brand new Mini? Have any of you bought and had regrets?

The only thing in common with a MINI and a Metro is the letter M. Sit back and enjoy your time while you can because once you get your MINI you'll be way to busy motoring and you'll find you can't wipe the stupid off your face.

It is a good bit of change for a MINI, Boge, but such a superb car buy, one may almost call it an "investment."

Buying a cheaper car will certainly cost you more [relative to residual values, etc.]. No joke at all. It's exceptionally rare that a car in this price range can hold it's value so wonderfully well. Really, Boge. We're awaiting a CABRIO as our second MINI.

Worry less. MINI more.

Boge - no offense, but if you're this indecisive about a car purchase, how do you make it through daily life? There are a lot tougher decisions about careers, home ownership, relationships, etc. Just make a choice and stick with it until you can tell if you've made the right one or not - if not, rectify it and move on.

Patience child, patience. So you wait for what you really want a little bit. Here's a little anology for you. A Mini is to Filet Mignon as a Geo Metro is to Cow Manure. The best part is they both come from the cow. Sorry if that's a little crude , but hey.

Thanks to Chris from Tate MINI who took all these pics. If you're on a slow connection these may take a few moments to load.

Things I've noticed - the revised gearing and supercharger lend itself to a much spritlier behavior than on the 02-04 models. The interior "aircraft evacuation" lighting is nice. Love the anthracite headliner, new (brighter) xenons and the head unit still works with my XM Direct box. :-) ! My leather seats seem a bit wider of my skinny rump.

Cheers!

Kurt

Okay, so the body-colored dash in Chili Red looks FREAKIN' AWESOME!!

I really like the Black-Eye Purple (Purple Haze) too.

Sorry, I'm just a little blown away...

Even more reason we should fight to bring Anthracite Liner back!

Lets ask MINI to give us the Anthracite liner back here:
