Alta intake for my R53

I am looking to do my first modification to the engine on my r53 05 Mini Cooper s manual. I will do doing a 15% pulley reduction next but am wondering if anyone has an Alta intake for sale? I don't know much about it but a guy who has taught me about minis said that's what I should do next he has a GP so he can't tell me much on what I need but I know I need an alta intake used if anyone has suggestions or one for sale let me know!

Save up and do a pulley at the same time. There is some labor efficiency, and you'll get a much better performance result.

Understood, I have been looking for one for 5 months now the problem is used ones do not come often, and when they do, you still probably going to pay $150+

A little? Mine screams in comparison. I was able to find a used Alta for $60, so they do exist at a good price if you get lucky.

Way has had the DDMworks CAI on sale for a bit now. $200 for a new one. You don't need the intake hose as you'd just reuse the stock one.

It doesn't do a whole lot for performance, but it is a whole lot more fun to listen to, that's for sure.

So realistically, given the three, which one would you choose: Alta vs. m7 vs. DDM

Just get the automatic version of the alta system. You don't need the silicone hose anyway.

Whichever one you get, I would avoid silicone intake hoses (or intercooler boots, for that matter). Some people might like the look, but fitment and flexibility is a problem leading to leaks.

They sound the same to me, honestly. What you end up hearing from it is the supercharger, really.

I used a Megan heat shield and a reverse conical k&n sounds awesome cost $120 new. Add a silicone tube for $75 if you want. My intake air temps are 10 degrees over ambient when cruising.
