Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R feedback wanted

Someone please admit to having bought the newly released RE-71R's. First impressions?

Bridgestone claims they are an improvement on RE-11a's, but are they better than the original RE-11's ?

1.4% Faster than the RE-11A
12% faster than the custom RE-71 used on the 959.

They just released yesterday on Tirerack. I don't think we will have any reviews until a few weeks later.

Anyone get these yet? I would like to hear feedback too!

I'm having them put on my coupe Friday. I will do a track day the following week and post some impressions.

I'm on my 2nd set this year.

Impressions:
1. dry traction is outstanding. closest thing to Hoosiers yet.
2. wet traction is very good, tires will hydroplane in deep water as there isn't a whole bunch of void space due to tread pattern
3. longevity is what I expected - 10-15k road miles. these are soft tires.
4. noisy? compared to what? can't comment on that really.

These are seriously soft and sticky tires made for competition although legal on the street. If that's what you want, they're perfect.

Cheers,

Charlie

Bridgestone RE-71R are the tires to have if you need a very sticky street or durable driving school tire with treadwear 200.

They are ideal for Street or Street Touring classes in autocross and set a new standard for Extreme Summer tires. Yes, they are better than the RE-11 and 11A.

They are not as noisy as some of the other Extreme Summer tires like the new Kumho V720 but they are louder than Max Summer tires. So for daily driving they are OK.
