R58 Brake Pad light (fronts), any special process?
Brake Pad light (fronts), any special process?
This is for a '13 R58. The replace-pads light has gone on, for the fronts.
So... any special procedures, or is this just a "swing the caliper back, replace the pads, and bleed"? (we presume no rotor work is required)
Also, what's the best place to get oem pads/hardware, for the best price?
Thanks!

Best Price... Shop around from various venders for the various types of pads.
For Service, If the Rotor checks out OK, and the PADs check out OK you should be able to reset the Brake Service Light
You Tube Video on how to do it...
Video is for a R60 but I think the R58 is the same...
Motor on!

Watched the video, that's almost funny... reminds me of setting keyless remotes.
Watched some other videos. Some minor differences to old jobs appear to be the caliper and rotor is held on by T-bolts (internal) not the usual hex-bolts (external) I'm used to. Yet the rest appears to be normal... compress the caliper piston, pull the caliper, replace the brakes, reverse. Except this is the first pad sensor I've worked with, yet the videos say this shouldn't be difficult.
Thanks!

No need to bleed to just change the pads. Use a large pair of pliers to push the piston back, install the new pads and mount the calipers back on.
Go with our EBC Redstuff pads, they have great feel and lower dust.
