Hoosiers on closeout

Just bought a new set of 215/40/16 A3S03s for $432 direct from Hoosier. They are closing out their stock of this discontinued tire. Call 574-784-3152 or go to http://www.hoosiertire.com/r3s03sal.HTM

Garfield,

What are your thoughts on the SO3's vs SO4's?

At Peru, I ran higher pressures to prevent rollover, it seems that coming out of sweepers, traction was not as good with higher pressures. On my last run of each day, I dropped pressures back 5 PSI and ran 1 full second and then .7 seconds faster, mainly due to better traction out of sweepers or turn arounds since there were a lot of them. At the Midwest Divisional, in Salina, KS, thats the grippiest concrete I've ever been on and I was still rolling over with 55 PSI, although acceleration was not a problem at all there since it was basically a WOT course, then turn around, WOT back with 3 chicago boxes.

On my current set of 04's, I have 23 runs on them in HOT weather and abrasive concrete. They are probably almost ready to flip.

Unfortunately, I have never ran on the SO3's.

So, since the sidewall of the O4's requires a much higher pressure, which, in my opinion hinders acceleration on SOME courses, not all, would the O3's be a better fit for the Cooper S on most courses???

If so, I'm buying 3 sets!!!!!

Due to budgetary reasons, I've only bought one set. But yes, I'd buy more if I could, I do like the S03's better for the camber challenged cars.
I'm plenty happy with the grip of the S04's but have serious concerns about how long they last (a surprise).

The interesting part about this dilemma is that the S04's WILL last longer, but not on camber challenged cars. This is why I'm running much higher pressures now, but cars with camber actually run less than the S03's.

Buy them all! And buy a few sets for me while you're at it!
