Possible fix for clutch weirdness?

Long story short I ordered a 2015 ALL4 counterman and the 6 speed was terrible. On hills it was even worse! I got to the point I called the dealer and told them to take the car back. The issue with the clutch on the Countryman ALL4 is the long travel and lack of feeling of engagement making it very difficult to drive. I heard a clutch stop makes engagement instantaneous and at the right spot totally eliminating any clutch issues including starting on hills. It cost $10 and takes 2 minutes to install with no tools! Anybody try it?

I have tried it. However, i couldnt start the car when my clutch was pressed. i had to press all the way down where it bent the replacement resulting same way as without it.

My last BMW I used a clutch stop (homemade) and a short throw shifter kit. Both worked wonders on a beast of a manual tranny to drive. With the clutch stop installed I had to defeat the switch that told the car when the clutch was engaged. You might have to do the same with the Mini but I'm not sure as I have an Auto

A clutch stop comes with 3-4 rubber washers allowing for adjustment by removing them. You had too many on and the clutch couldn't disengage properly. take 1-2 washers off and you should be golden.

I agree that the mini clutch is pretty "dead" feeling. A clutch stop helps a lot by taking up the initial slack. Just make sure you don't set it too high or the clutch won't fully disengage.

I have a clutch stop. It's ridiculous that it didn't come from the factory that way.

Is the clutch on the 2015 ALL4 the same as the clutch on my 2011 S? I noticed that there is some useless slack at the end of the travel, but it didn't take long to get used to it.

And I've never driven a manual with the hill assist feature (or whatever it's called). The first time I released the brake on a hill (steep), and expected it to roll back, I was confused, then it jolted backwards unexpectedly. I love it now.
