OEM or Aftermarket Clutch?

'08 R56 MCS just hit 100K of trouble free miles (not all N14's are junk). My clutch is still from the factory and still feels good. Doesn't feel worn at all but I know I'll be replacing it in the next 10K miles or so for preventive maintenance.

When driven correctly the OEM clutch is pretty stout. However if they're better clutches out there that maintain OEM drivability but can handle more power/torque, then I'm interested. I'm considering getting a bench tune at BrenTuning in the spring. If I go that route (~190 hp @ wheels/250 ft/lb) is an upgraded clutch necessary? Would an OEM JCW clutch be stout enough?

Thanks

The stock clutches we have found to be the most reliable and last the longest for a street driven car. Aftermarket clutches are really harsh to drive on the street and won't last as long.
We sell the complete kit, or do the JCW version for you.

Heard that the JMTC has several clutches to choose from and getting rid of the dual mass flywheel for a single mass one that will outlast any OEM flywheel and can even be machined for future use! I recommend a Stage 3 JMTC clutch kit, these's a few that have this clutch on NAM and have like it because it grabs sooner with more pressure. The Stage 3 kits pressure plate has a lot of material on it, last you long time even if you drive hard!

Also while on the JMTC website I purchased their PVC Reroute/Delete for $4.95 which eliminates carbon buildup on the intake valves. I never had the carbon buildup issue but again, preventive maintenance is key ha ha.
