Plastic protector from original shipment???

I bought an R50 for daughter (2004 Hatchback, 35K miles) our second MINI. I've done some work to it, but it's basically very sound! However - it has a plastic film from original shipment on the nose (like a bra). The plastic is cracked, but the adhesive is very strong still. HOW DO I GET IT OFF? I've tried heat, gas, WD40, clay bars, and various cleaners. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I doubt that it is a protective film from it's original shipment. It sounds like someone paid good money to have a clear plastic bra installed after purchasing the car and that's what you're trying to remove.

Try going after it again with a hair dryer and an extra pint (or two) of patience. If it's any kind of plastic/vinyl it will eventually succumb to the heat.
