I am trying to configure my Mini online to do a special order (picture attached). I see that the JCW roof, body and side stripes are costing me around $400 when I build it online. Can I just get the car without them and get them done else where. If yes, where would I find them? Also does the look and feel stay the same if get them done from outside mini. Has anyone here done the JCW stripes which is not mini installed?

Mini delivers car to you with stripes perfectly installed to your liking or you don't sign off and take the car. Isn't that worth not even thinking about trying to save a buck and going aftermarket?

 

You can typically get them from the parts department, but if you are doing a factory order, you don't save much by doing them yourself. I would say just have your dealer do them - plus they get rolled into the cost of the car that way too.

 

asked for a quote from my local vinyl shop. like you said, if it is not considerably lower i would rather get it done from mini.
