Remove rear headrests?

Hello, I am new to Mini and (obviously) new to this forum. As I am sure many of you would agree viewing behind the car while driving is atypically obscured by the roll bars and rear headrests. Is it possible to remove the headrests to prove rearward vision? I do not anticipate using the rear seats for humans, only carrying stuff.

My '13 headrests were easy to remove. Instead of removing them I simply removed the locking washer that was holding them up in a high position and that allowed them to set low the way they were designed.

The headrests in my 2012 just slid off. No problem at all. Rear visibility much improved.

Unlikely, they are structural rollover protection.

The rear headrest pads can be removed. But you will still have the plastic structure and the main rollover support , which I would not remove.

R52 2005-2008 - Fixed rear headrest and roll over hoops.

R57 2009+ is a different set up with adjustable rear headrest and pop up rear roll over braces.

Took mine out a year ago from my 2010 MCS. Rarely carry anyone in the rear, no one ever even noticed their absence. Visibility is markedly better and it is easier to lower the rear seats and/or put stuff in when the seats are upright, over the parcel shelf cover from the opened hatch.

My front headrests are in place but reversed so they aren't always pushing my head forward while driving. They still serve the purpose in case of collision but aren't bothersome now.
