Alta Downpipe Back Exhaust

I have installed Alta's downpipe back exhaust on my 2007 MCS. It works great, sounds great... I cannot get the flair connections to seal up tight. the worst offender is the connection to the CAT. I used Alta's SS "V" Clamp there first, tried to adjust the thin aluminum gasket that inserts into the connection and that won't get the job done. It "puffs". I next tried the stock Mini clamp and it does a good job as well. It "puffs" as well. I have gotten the joints clamped to the point of not hearing any un-muffled exhaust noise but I can smell the leak inside the car. It's stinky my friends.

I am lying on my back on the dirty, cold, Colorado garage floor and it sucks. I need warmth and Turkey and apple pie...

Does anyone have a clever idea what will work to seal these connections? I have looked into silicon tape, goo in a tube...

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can render. You can respond to coach@danraabetraining.com
