Has anyone seen this Mini?
OK....I'll tell more.
I saw the car parked one day and took the above photos, thinking it was just a cool looking old Nash, though I was a bit confused by the "Cooper" on the tailgate. Then, about two weeks later, I see the same car on the freeway on my drive home from work. As traffic came to a near stop, I managed to maneuver my way next to the car and gave the driver a thumbs up. He then rolled down his window and said something I couldn't quite make out. He then shouted something about the dash and pointed to his dash and my car (an '06 JCW cabriolet) and yelled something about the dash. I just nodded, thinking he was talking about the round speedos that were common to both cars. But he kept on yelling and pointing as if I didn't get what he was trying to communicate. He then pulled slightly ahead and I looked over and what do I see inside?.........a Mini Cooper dash! He then managed to make it clear to me that what he was driving was a Mini with a Nash Rambler body. Later I found a short bit on the internet that explained that the Mini was near totaled and was rescued, the body panels stripped off and the Nash body grafted on. I suspect that the engine was modified as well as when the traffic cleared, we both hit the gas and he kept right up with me.
