The kind of rattle that makes you want to kill yourself

My Roadster has developed this impressively irritating rattle/creak behind the driver's seat. It's almost certainly plastic creaking/rattling/vibrating but no matter what I bang on, press on, or pull on (and no amount of listening) I can't figure out where it's coming from.

It happens almost constantly. 5mph. 50mph. Any mph.

I plan on making an appointment to see if MINI will help me hunt it down, but before that I figured I'd start here.

I've recorded an audio clip and it's link is below. During the clip, I'm rolling at about 5-10mph in heavy traffic. Rest assured the vibrating intensifies with speed increases to ensure that you can always hear it.

It doesn't seem to happen when I'm accelerating, which is interesting, but it is consistently present when decelerating or coasting.

Link to my hell - it's quite a bit louder than it comes across with the road noise in this recording :(

ANY ideas welcome. I've ignored it for a couple weeks hoping it would go away. No luck.

My 2014 doesn't even have 4K miles on it yet, but I have one. It seems to be related to when the top is down and I hit bumps. I think the metal frame of the top is bouncing when it is retracted. Still chasing down the rattle. I have not heard it when the top is up. Initial thoughts was it was the spoiler in the down position bouncing over bumps.

Your problem is different. It has been experienced by several R59 owners and is the subject of a previous thread in this forum:

The good news is that you should be able to easily mitigate it.

Any news on this? This is the price to we all pay for modern plastic snap technics used to lower cost of assembly. It's not bad in itself but leaves more chances for things to loosen or be miss assembled.
