Stupid Question Friday

I have an 06 MCS with a severe rubber on rubber squeak and squeal in the front end when the steering wheel is turned, generally to the right.

My outer ball joint on the left as well as the lower control arm bushing, same side, is shot and scheduled to be replaced as soon as a competent mechanic can be found in the Laredo Texas area.

Does anyone have ideas as to the cause of the squealing?

Can anyone suggest a mechanic in this area?

Because of my job, I simply don't have the time to do the repairs myself.

And one other thing. Would a road trip of 200 miles be cause for concern with the left hand ball joints and LCAB loose, worn and in need of replacement?

Thanks

Opinion on the left side. You probably could get away with the trip, but imagine what you'll be doing and saying if it fails and you need to get towed home or pay whomever is nearby to do whatever they can, knowing how or not.

Find that mechanic and get everything fixed at once. And I'd also recommend you looking on other forums as well since you may sometimes get information and advice on one but not the other.

Ask me how I know~~~

I just had similar issues on the right sight of my cooper. The brakes seemed to be affected most. $300 for inner and outer
Ball joints and a set of power flex LCAB at WMM. (Way motor works).

Check the strut mounts. They squeak when they tear. Ball joints and lcab will make a knocking noise generally.
