7-page review of the Pioneer AVIC-N1

I'm not sure, but this may have just moved to the top of my list of mods (ahead of the wheels and tires).

Just a quick bump - considering the original thread about the AVIC-N1 got almost 2000 views, I can't believe so few people are interested in a review of the product with more specific operating details.

Anyone have this or are considering this? I'm a big Alpine fan and have had a bad experience with a Pioneer unit (albeit 8 years ago), so it'll take a good bit for me to jump ship.

The all-in-one navigation might do it, though.

The Alpine's I'm considering are the IVAD300 and IVAD900 (neither have nav on board) with Infinity Kappa perfects all around. Any thoughts?

but you have to remove the nav dvd to play a cd? That sucks. With the oem nav there is no need to do that. I want to replace the oem nav though...I

I'd like a larger screen, and a better audio system...anyone know what screens will fit in that area?

You have to take the NAV DVD out to play a CD or DVD, but the route is loaded in memory (including a 5-mile radius of your trip, in case you take any wrong turns).

The AVIC-N1 is hands down one of the best invesments that I have put into my Mini. The routing is Excelent, the DVD capabilites are great.

It has dynamic re-routing which is great for a missed tun also
The Navigation works while showing a DVD. It is an awsome addition to the Mini Cooper.

It is much better then any stock Navigation system that i have ever used.

I could possibally meet that or even beat it, but I would need to see how many would be interested. I'll call my distributor, and see what I can do. If you want to organize a group, let me know. I have to see wheter payment by CC would be possible as well, as that is a deep discount.

Are you saying paying by CC would get us a better price, or cut your margin too much? I always pay by CC whenever possible.

I have to see how much CC would cut into the price. If i can get it lowered, (my price from distro) from a larger purchase, then the CC would be fine.
