Wilwood brakes and Rota RB wheels.

It is possible, as l have done, to install a Wilwood front brake kit under a set of Rota RB 16 X 7.5 inch wheels. The only Wilwood kit that fits is a 4 piston caliper (only available in black) with the 11.5 inch slotted hat rotor. In order to make it fit you'll need 10mm spacers and longer wheel bolts. It will also be necessary to champher the allen head screws on the outside of the calipers at a 45 degree angle to get sufficient clearance. I have done this to my 2009 Gen 2 "Justa" and I love them! It was a crap shoot and it worked out. I wanted the minilite look so I chose the 16" Rota RBs because I think the 17s look too spindly and give a harsh ride. Unfortunately a Wilwood rear brake kit with the emergency brake setup will not fit under these wheels, however the stock rear brakes are just fine.

That's must be a tight fit. I would first think the larger kits would fit the 16. And props for mentioning the need for the longer bolts/studs. Many folks over look this and then find out (Sunday noon!) that after all the installation work they can't put the wheels back on!

The rear when fit with the 11.75 kit create a larger radius than stock and I've seen tight fits with even 17s depending upon the wheel configuration.

For the record tho: You can get the 11.75 kits in any color and rotor configuration just like the larger 12.2: choice of color, drilled and slotted etc.
