What part is this?

Hello, I am a guy from south korea read this site to see what problems that other mini has. Since I don't have much knowledge about the car, I can't help other ppl yet as well as myself. Currently, my car, 2010 r56s, has P2188 problem that can be caused by many other issues, and what I found is this weird oil leak on the part that I am not sure how to describe. It is a plastic separator intake part after the rubber hosing that is connected to intercooler.
It may confused you guys about where it is. The location is basically the front of the passenger side that is next to the right front suspension of the car. I also attached a photo.
What do you think of this oil? I think it may have crack on this plastic part, but I just want to check is this normal or not first. Thank you

I believe you are referring to the cold intake hose that goes from the outlet of the intercooler to the throttle body. The plastic part connects two hoses. It should not be cracked and leaking. I looked up the P2188 code in the Bentley manual and is says "System too rich at idle", but you may already know that. I would take the hose clamps off and remove and examine the connector. If it is cracked, it could be the reason for the code.

Thanks gregsmini. I really appreciate it. What you said is exactly right. I don't have the time to check the part yet since I am living in company dorm. When I get back to my house on weekend, I will check that out. Also, in case if it cracks, do you know part name or part number that you describe? Thank you.

Your pictures show your MINI serial number so I plugged it into realoem.com and found the parts picture and list for your car. Here's the line to it: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...06&hg=13&fg=20

Coincidentally, I replaced that whole pipe on my MINI with this: http://www.waymotorworks.com/nm-air-charge-pipe.html

Unfortunately Way doesn't take overseas sales, but you can probably find it elsewhere.

Also, that's right about where the timing chain tensioner is located so it could be the tensioner leaking and not the plastic intake pipe.

Here is the update for the car. When i checked the intake pipe, i didnt find a crack... so i tear apart the modified intake, and found that there is a small scar in the rubber tube that goes into turbo. I swapped it back to original intake, and there is no engine check light yet... lets see till next week. Hope it goes away...

Looks like its was a leak on the intake side.

Was it this part. 13717555784 Rubber Boot That connect to the turbo and then to the airbox ? They can crack at the neck.

Thanks
