It's official! The largest gathering of Minis EVER in North America is doing it again!

2015 will be the second year of this event. 2013 was the first and was a lot of fun. 848.5 Minis gathered to cross the Mackinac Bridge (a five mile suspension bridge that links Michigan's lower and upper peninsulas). Scheduled for August 1, 2015. I'm not associated with the event, but I sure enjoyed it in 2013 and I'm already planning for next year. There's a FB page (2015 Mini on the Mack) and you can probably find out more by visiting Mini of Grand Rapids' website. In addition to the ride, there's plenty to do around the area...Mackinac Island, waterfalls, Sault Ste. Marie, fudge, etc..

 

How could you forget the pasties!!!

Lehto's Pasties a few miles west of St. Ignace on US-2 are the best pasties in the whole U.P. (And this is coming from a guy who spent 10 years living in the Keweenaw at the opposite end of the state.) Very strongly thinking about driving out from Colorado in my new F56 for this event! Should be amazing. (I've driven out twice in my 2007 R56, so I know what I'm in for.)

I just had some from Hunt's Mackinaw Pasty and Cookie Company in mackinaw city. Pretty tasty and they will ship them frozen!

 

If you want shipped pasties, I'd suggest the Calumet Senior Center ( http://www.pasty.com/order.html ). Great pasties and a great cause.

 

The 2013 event was great, as will be this year's. It's in my back yard, an easy choice. I believe anyone would have a most memorable weekend.
