Popping rear hatch from inside the car

Is there a way to pop the rear hatch from inside the car? I understand there is a way from under the rear seat, but is there a way to do it from the driver seat? The Dealer said to hold the unlock toggle switch down and it will pop but that does not work.
Thanks

There is only an unlock function, no "pop the hatch". You can try to see whether this mod for the R56 works for the F56: http://www.thedailytoggle.com/diy-bo...auto-open-mod/

This is an incredibly awesome mod, will do it soon!

fyi:
In the US you can buy the springs at MSCDirect.com (MSC # 76010636).
In the UK you can buy the springs at bonxy.info/mini or Cromwell.

Thanks! How did I miss this mod elsewhere on this forum???

Ordered the springs and got them yesterday. The mod took a few minutes and it's great. A few observations. The little spring clip is very easy to get off and I used a needle nose pliers to help coax them back on. I also used a small channel lock pliers to hold the strut rods and I used a rag to prevent making marks on them. Finally, I adjusted the rubber bumpers on the hatch all the way out to help get the hatch "going" when you pop it and that helps the new springs do their thing.

Not sure why they didn't make it like that from the factory... Clubman's rear door opens on its own.

Shipping from MSC is outrageous. Anyone have any luck finding these springs anywhere more reasonable?

Done and done!

Painted the springs satin black so you can't see them through the shut line when the hatch is closed. They each have small rubber washer inserted in them to hold rhem in place when the hatch is open.
