Air intake Boot leak

Hello everyone! i just have a quick question if anyone is willing to help. Could a leak in the air intake boot cause the SES light to come on and run a lean condition for the vehicle? in the picture I attached there was a big crack in the first section I outlined. I ordered a new one today but just wondering if that could cause a lean condition? I dont think it would as there aren't any sensors before that area are there? im not sure. Any input would be appreciated!

Thanks

it shouldnt, since all the sensors are after that part, the filter is immediatly to the left, may have a vacuum leak somewhere else or a hole in the exhaust before the rear 02, or bad 02 sensors
