No it's not an easy swap going from halogen to xenon with OEM lights.

ECS Tuning is selling them as a retrofit kit (doesn't seem to come with anything other than the headlights themselves), all they note is that they need to be programmed by dealer. So I'm assuming anyone wanting to pick these up would need to find a dealer that would do that for them. If it's as simple as that, $450 seems like a good price.

You can perform the retrofit with NCSexpert.

Interested here, only need to know if include the ballast and bulbs.

What ECS is selling is different then what is being sold here. The kit ECS sells is specifically made to convert halogen-equipped cars to xenons, but the factory fitted xenons (which are what is being sold here) will require additional hardware (height leveling modules, different wiring due to high beams, etc.).

Also a note to potential buyers with pre-2011 cars: you will need to get new ballasts to use these lights in your car. MINI changed the ballast connections to the headlight during the refresh and the older ballasts won't fit new headlights. The good news is the connections between the ballast and the car did not change, so a 2013 ballast and headlight can be put in a 2007 with xenons.

No problem. Just trying to help others by sharing the knowledge I got when going through the hassle of putting new headlights in my 08 lol. Completely worth it though. And for anyone concerned about the price of new ballasts for these lights, much better deals can be sourced from reputable places on EBay.

Great deal for essentially new lights. GLWS.

Good information here.
