So, these are not the caps that go over the existing mirror? They actually replace the black mirrors that I have now?

your caps should just pop of they are held on by clips.then the red ones just pop back on. what year is your mini and do you have power folding mirrors.

I have a 2013 Mini Cooper JCW and yes I do have power fold mirrors.
