Error code 1229 after rebuilding engine
My 2003 Cooper won't start and I'm getting an error code 1229 which indicates "Throttle sensor adaption failure". Upon further reading in the Bentley manual, it says that if housing is replaced, be sure to reset DME control unit adaptation values using scan tool.
I also read in a Cooper engine management book:
"If the throttle housing/accelerator pedal module is replaced, the adaptations
must be cleared and adaptation procedure must be performed using the
DISplus. If this is not performed, the vehicle will not start, or will run in "failsafe" mode."
While I didn't actually replace the TB, I did unplug it during the course of the rebuild. I assume in terms of the adaptation value that this is the same thing.
So my questions are:

So my questions are:
- Has anyone either received this error and if so, how did you fix it?
- For those that have rebuilt your engine, did you come across this error and did it prevent the engine from starting)?
