Boring out SSR GT2 for M14 bolts?

I have a set of SSR GT2 wheels from my 2006 Mini Cooper S. I'd like to use them on my 2009 Mini Cooper Clubman S. But, MINI went to slightly larger diameter wheel bolts after my old r53 was made, so I cannot mount them.

Is there any reason that I shouldn't have a machinist bore out the bolt holes on the GT2 wheels? Seems like they have plenty of material there.

Anyone have any experience doing this?

Thanks!

Way Motor Works has stud conversion kit so you can mount them without having to redrill. It saves you from red rolling them and diminisioning the value of them.

Oh, wow, you are a star! I just hit way's site on your advice and immediately turned up this:

I'm one of those freaks that prefers bolts to studs, but this is worth a little compromise.

Thanks again!

Yup. Plus it's easier to put wheels on because you can hang them on the studs compared to lining up the holes and then putting one bolt in. Annoying, I don't enjoy those days, especially because I track, so I like to swap wheels.

Don't get the Muteki nuts. They suck.

Get some regular conical nuts here, they're local to me and they're great:

The nuts from EAS are cheaper too. What's wrong with the Muteki nuts?

The shape of them. Too small. I had a friend run M14 wheels with the Muteki nuts and they always seemed loose. Switched them out to the conical EAS nuts and haven't had a single issue since. Also, having to use the lock extension on every nut when we track is ridiculous.
