I am a new member here..
Actually my son bought the used Mini Cooper, 2 door hatchback, 2008, 1.6 L, 6 speed . He is not interested in mechanics at all. I am an expert on the Peugeot 205, 305, and old 204 (old autos Here, in Belgium) plus Ford Thunderbirds 1964-66, and a very capable, experienced "driveway" auto mechanic.
MINI problems at the current time... window dipping stopped working on the driver's door, and an oil loss when driven on the expressway. One liter loss in 2400 km (1500 miles). We just bought 30 liters of 5W30 synthetic oil ($5.50 per liter) until we can find the reason for the high loss.

Well, in 2 months nobody has made any comments... so I guess I will seek advice elsewhere.
