Hey I have an 2008 Mini Cooper base automatic with 111,000 on it. The other day i noticed a whining sound when I cranked it up yesterday. I can only describe as a roaring/whining sound sorta like when you but a car in reverse and drive it. It makes the sound while in park and drive. The sound intensifies when you press the gas pedal. Car drives normal, no warning lights and seems to go lighten up after driving it for a few miles. This is my first time owning a Mini. is this normal? It sounds gear related. Could it be related to power steering pump?
