Popping noise

I've heard a popping noise for a little over a year, which sound to be emitting from the front of the car. It started out very infrequent but now happens all the time. I have a service appointment in 4 days, but I was hoping for some info to help my cause. I've told the dealer 2 times already and they "find nothing wrong".

the noises occur when

- slowing down in a straight line via braking
- turning and slowing down
- turning and pressing the gas pedal
- pressing the gas pedal after a full stop
- turning the wheel and going forward or reverse
- turning the wheel sharply to the right also causes a squeal noise
- happens in sport mode or normal driving

Is it related to the brakes? The transmission? The suspension?

This does not sound exactly like what I had but have them check your engine mounts. My sound was more of a clicking sound but it occurred when I accelerated and sometimes when turning. They tightened them and no more sound. I lived with it for almost a year before they were even able to duplicate it. Worth a look.

I was told by a very good source, in stone, that the quality of the CV joints in the CM are of lower than expected quality.

Here is the issue explained. The run flat tires are very very heavy, the CV joints will fail sooner that an anticipated because of the larger rotation weight of the run flats.

standard tire weight is around 18-21 run flats are 29lbs. This puts more wear on the drive system. My son put super off road knobby tires on a truck once, and his CV failed within 5K miles.
