Installed the smoked tail lights & rings. This is the factory kit, took about an hour to do. The top bolt is a joke to tighten but its worth it once done.

This is a nice compliment to the blacked out headlights & rings.
Next comes the window tint and clear bra tomorrow.

 

Very nice.

 

It gives a nice distinction between the body color and tail light color.

 

We have those here. They come with the gray line trims snapped into place.

Are these different from the ones available here http://www.shopminiusa.com/PRODUCT/1...E-LIGHTING-KIT, they look different with the clear turnbsignal and black housing around it. The part numbers the same...

Not sure about the part numbers, my local MINI dealer only offered me the ones I ended up with. This is the first time I am seeing the others. It says SD on the badge so those may be the euro versions.

Did you get them?

I was planning on ordering the ones from ECS tuning because they offer a good price and was wondering if there was any difference between them and the ones from MINI because they did look slightly different in the pictures but its makes sense those must be the euro version.

 

The ones we have are the US Black Line version ( 63212280158 ), that pics on MINIUSA website is the euro version.


We do have the regular taillights in the euro version. They are not tinted, or have the gray rings but have the orange and blue tint back up lights, for double back ups or single.

I have r57 that I had this done to the oem ' s taillughts, scuttles, backup light and the fender side markers. Having third light and headlights done soon plus finishing the chrome black out.

 

Well I went all out and just ordered the entire black line set, headlight rings, side lights and the tail light kit

 

I could see that being very helpful!
