Finally threw out my run flats!

The road noise above 50 mph, especially on 95 here in south Florida was unbearable. I actually purchased a decibel meter on Amazon to quantify how loud it was. On the same road at the same speed, my car was 8 decibels higher than my wifes SRX.

I started researching sound deadening options until I really paid attention to a blog statement that said first fix the noise source then look into deadening. Today, at 11,500 miles, I replaced my Goodyear oem 225 45 18 run flats with Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS.

Wow! I'm sure the handling is better, but I was so satisfied with the reduced road noise. I'll try the decibel meter another day.

P.S. For peace of mind I ordered the BMW oem tire mobility set from amazon.

Yeah. I agree with you and the road noise is terrible.

I'm getting rid of my RFT this weekend for P7 Non RFT all season.

would be interested in knowing how you like the P7's.? I've got 15K on my Goodyear Runflats and will make a change before winter. Strongly considering the P7's. Thanks.

I would highly recommend the Non-RFT and the ride is smooth. I wish I had these tires two years back.

I went with Michelin Pilot Super Sports and love them. No matter how hard I corner in my 2010 MCS I can't get them to squeal or slide.
