R50/53 what tires size to get
what tires size to get
Looks like BFGoodrich has a rebate on their g-force sport comp-2s.
I currently have a stock tire size, 195/55 R16, but those tires aren't made in that size.
I have some suspension upgrades waiting to be installed, but wondering the benefits of 205/50 R16 vs 205/55 R16s. I want to retain ride quality and appearance, (I guess), not sure if the 205's would stick out any.
Thanks for the help!!

The 205/55/16 are fine, a bit taller, so you lose a bit of the sporty look, but other than this, they don't really stick out more.
Since I can't spend $500 on tires right now, I'm holding back from buying another set of Falken in 195 and I'm running used 205/55/16 Goodyear or Bridgestone that I grab at work. The difference is around 1.7%, so when the tach shows 60 mph, you're going 61.2 mph. It's still within the aceptable limit.
Not to mention that 205/55/16 are more common than the oem 195/55/16, so they are cheaper as well.
If it can give you an idea on the general look:

Highly recommend this tire (BFG G-Force 2) in the 205/55/16 size, I installed them last fall and just now we are coming into the insane hot weather of Arizona's summer months and these tires really stick. I bought the larger 55 size because of the notorious potholes and rough pavement in the areas around here, but they are made in 50 and 45 sizes as well. I strongly recommend this tire for the Mini Cooper, really well balanced control and traction and got a lot of the "go-cart" feel from the old run flats back by increasing the air pressure to 36-38 PSI.
I think they just fill the wheel well and just a touch outside the stock rims.
