R60 Mini's 1.6 Liter engine named International engine of the year for 2014
Mini's 1.6 Liter engine named International engine of the year for 2014
It's quite surprising honestly. I still feel the N18 engine(2011-2014, depending on the models) could have squeezed out a little more hp to strengthen itself to the competition.
To squeeze 208 HP out of a 1.6 Liter engine is pretty good, that kind of tells me that the turbo is heavily boosted. The engine itself is unreliable enough already, I would not try to boost it anymore.
Tell that to the JCWs with 243whp and some MCS's with 215whp. But I'll be joining that group if I don't sell my MINI. It's hard not to mod these cars...it's addicting:-/
Look at what this pompous sounding "award" really is:

The Prince engine has received the award every year since 2007.
