? For all running a single nozzel Methanol Set-up:

I'm about to install a Snow Performance Stage II W/M Kit. I was hoping to get a few pointers or lessons learned on where and how to set up the following:

1) Best place to set up the tank in the MINI Boot...

2) Being that I'm running Meth from the Boot, I'm installing a Solenoid. Question is; Referencing point A) Tank, to point B) Nozzle: Where would be the best place to set-up Pump and solenoid...

3) I'm sure Cerenkov will chime in, but I'm taking it that the point of entry he installed his Nozzle would be the most efficient...

Any other tips/lessons learned would be most appreciated. Also, IOT quell questions as to why not Aqua Mist: I am installing what my budget can handle IOT achieve cooler intake temps, and increase octane efficiency for timing and boost.

Thanks..

Cool. You be glad with the meth kit, no matter the manufacturer.

Here are my thoughts:

Mounting the Tank

You will have to custom fabricate a bracket/plate to mount the tank to. You can also mount the pump to the same plate/bracket.

Underneath carpet you will see a rubber plug. This is a good hole to route the wires/tubing through and up to the front of the car. It is best to run up the passenger side. The battery is located on this side as is the glove box (a good place to mount the controller). I installed all the wires/tubing from the trunk in 1/2" split loom and zip tied it to the fuel lines.

If needed, there is usually a ground connection behind the side access panels in the trunk.

Mounting the JET

I would mount the jet in the hard tube next to the dipstick. It gives the T-MAP sensor time to "see" the spray. When drilling this hole be careful because the drill bit will corkscrew in and could damage the opposite side. If you use a stepped-bit it will prevent this from happening. When drilling disconnect the tube from the intercooler. Then drill the hole. If you remove the T-MAP sensor you can use compressed air to blow the shavings back down the tube toward the intercooler and onto the ground.

Mounting the Controller

Put this in the glove box. There is a pass-through from the engine bay. You'll have to remove the battery to access it. You can easily run the boost tube to this location also. Alternatively you can mount the controller underneath the cowling, next to the battery or on the firewall inside the engine bay. There is a ground connection in the battery area.

I quickly read through the installation instructions, it's very similar to the Aquamist. It looks very straight forward, but take your time and make sure everything is done right. With this kit you don't have to tap the ECU, it uses a physical boost tap instead.

After the install, I would drive around for a while to see how it is spraying by aiming it at the windshield (water only at this point).

Definitely use the solenoid (located between the tank and pump). The Aquamist uses a fast acting valve (FAV) to modulate the flow but there is also a check valve right before the nozzle to prevent seepage when the car is off. You might want to look into this.

Let's us know if you have questions and keep us updated with the install.

Thanks Cerenkov,

Great input. Can't wait to get it all set up.

I had my jet located on a plate on my TT just before the throttle Body!
Kept the butterfly clean as a whistle and quicker cooling and I mixed my own water/meth! Good Luck! I will be doing the same here on my R in time..
