R50/53 roof moulding coming off!!!

roof moulding coming off!!!

hey guys,

my side roof moulding is coming off on the back were it meets the boot roof moulding. is this something i can fix myself or am i going to have to replace that one big piece? i've attached a couple images of the situation. thanks!!

You might be able to epoxy it back - but you may not be able to remove it again without destroying it.

You may have to take it off and snap it back into place.

There are 5-6 screws under the door seal and the rest pops out once the screws are out. Then you pop the back in first. It'll hook in and continue snapping it back into place towards the front. Be careful of the a-pillar cap because it breaks easily.

The A-pillar cap may break off and to replace that you need a whole new drip rail.

If you're car is in an accident they may have to take it off to replace a part. Mine had to come off to replace the quarter.

Did you try snapping it back into place?

i can snap it back in, but it continues to pop off randomly. and now its coming off in larger sections. i think i need to replace the whole rail

If you need the whole sections we have them here with the diagram and parts. Usually the ears at the front ( near A pillars ) are the problems, from window replacements.
