I need to have some work done on my 2005 cabrio top. Have gotten a quote from one of the dealers in Seattle but was wondering if there is anyone here who has used someone else other than the dealerships to have their top repaired.

I believe it needs either new cables or a new motor. The top will only move back about an inch and then stops. there is not motor noise or anything.

I used to go to Eastside European who did a great job, but after going to Seattle MINI in lake city and having such a good experience with them, I decided just to keep going back there. I also have discovered a lot of places that will work on MINI's (and actually do a good job) have labor rates that are just as much as the dealer and have a mark up on parts similarly to the dealer too. The guys at Seattle MINI were very helpful and offered a few services for free when they change my clutch. Great people there!
