Craven Shifter Well Cover on stock shifter

I'm not looking to purchase the Carven Short Shifter, but I really like the no boot look. In the discription it says the Shift Well Cover will work on a stock shifter. Has anybody done this? Any pictures would be great.

Cheers!!

I have a 1st Gen also, so I won't post a photo and clutter the thread.

In this discription they talk about haveing done away with the exposed screws. Looking at your pics I don't see any screws.

no exposed screws, it press fits right in place......just remove the stock shift boot and press the CS cover on.

there are 3 parts...a spring, a plastic disk, and the large 'dish'....

the spring goes on first, then you put on the plastic disk, then the dish goes on over everything, presses in, and holds it all in place.....

in other words, you all payed $85 for something you could have put together for about $20 at the hardware store.

lol. you don't need the aluminum part. pop off the boot, make a circle 1/8" larger radius than the hole, put in the circle (whatever material you want) under console with the hole cut in the middle (attach with 3m tape or glue in place). put a mild tension spring around your shifter followed by a piece of foam or a plastic with a hole cut out for the shifter. voila! Just saved you $60... Well, if you don't already have one anyway.

I'm not trying to be a ****, its just that some people are really the non-creative types. If you wanted to take it a step further you could make the top plastic a gated design like a lambo.

trust me I had a genuine cs one on my r53. I felt like I seriously overpaid for something I could have made myself.

spend your money how you want, ill spend my money how i want....everyones happy....i mean, $85 is not that much compaired to most Cooper Accesories.....thats about the price youd pay for a leather shift/ ebrake boot anyways....

people have tried, there isnt enough throw at the base of the shift lever to get a nice clean 'H' pattern.....it comes out looking like a blob....
