Midlands SC Check
Midlands SC Check
Just checking to see if anyone from the midlands of South Carolina - Columbia and surroundings - is reading this forum, and if so, would like to put on some sort of MINI get together ?
Mick - Northeast Richland County, almost Pontiac

I'm in Aiken and pulled together a meet (60 mile run and BBQ dinner) in the Aiken-Augusta area in late Feb by word of mouth and had 9 MINIs show up. I planned to do something again in about 4-6 weeks.
Let me know if interested. There are several more MINIs in the area now!!!

I live in Forest Acres in Columbia. I would love to group up.
I have putting out some posts on Mini2 to see who was around, but no responses. I was starting to think all the other Mini's in Columbia where figments of my imagination!

Anybody else out there....?
I think we need a S.C chapter mini group.
If it is midlands based then everyone can get to it relatively quickly due to location.
I think it should be called SoCar Minis.
I would help organize this if anyone wanted to participate...

South Carolina MINI owners:
There is a MINI Club in the Carolinas, but it's not very active in the S.C. Midlands right now. It's the MINI Motoring Club of the Carolinas, or m2c2. Check out our web site at m2c2.org and the forum there, also accessible from the forum index here on NAM (under "club forums").
The club covers both Carolinas, though at the moment it's most active in the Raleigh and Asheville areas. We've already gone through all the organization hassles and are looking for new members, particularly in South Carolina. We most need people who will take the lead in putting together events and we'd love to help you set up a chapter in the Columbia area.
The club is structured so that activity comes from the bottom up: MINI owners organize events for people in their area, then announce them to get folks to come from farther away. Very little comes from the top down, though the club organization and members are there to help one another as needed.
The western North Carolina chapter has scheduled a dinner in Spartanburg next week and we'd love to have you and any other S.C. MINI owners come. Several other events are in the works.
Check it out and get involved!

Okay time to get serious.
Let's set a date and a place to meet.
And have Mini fun.
Anyway, the Eurofest is coming up at the BMW Zentrum in Oct. I expect all of you will be there. It really needs a Mini turn out. One that would rival all the "others" heh heh......

Every year, BMW has a Eurofest in October, with Autocross, Ralleys, car shows, entertainment and food. Lotsa fun!
I missed it last year due to a scheduling conflict..
Several M2C2 members won at the show last year for how clean and pretty their MINIs were..

Can you all send me some more info on this Erofest. I'm hoping it's not hte last weekend in October...or the last week, I'll be out of town for business and I'm trying to do a Halloween Rally that last weekend, and I really don't want to have a conflict!
Thanks so much!

I think it would make sense to form a chapter under the already existing M2C2 club as suggested by LJinNC. With more members in an already established club, it may be more attractive in terms of discounts and special offerings from vendors wanting to target a larger group of MINI owners. Then everyone benefits...
I am game for anything. Existing group, new group etc....
I would just like to have some Mini's to associate with in the Midlands area and make trips outside the areaon occasion.
I would love to help get something started in the from of a get together, rally, etc.

See you their. Have a safe ride an we will see you at the beach for lunch and looking at the Minis. The parking lot says Ocean Front Parking and is on the corner of Mr Joe White Ave. and Chester street.Hope to also talk about forming a SC Mini Owners association or club or creating a SC division of the NC group up in Morresville NC.
