R50/53 Window drop question
Window drop question
Hey everyone I'm new to the forum and new to owning a Mini Cooper. Love the car so far it's been a great addition for my family. I have a question about the window drop. I searched but couldn't come up with something that answered it.
Right now both windows drop when the doors are opened. But the drivers side drops maybe an 1/8" and the Passengers side drops maybe a 1/2". My question is which is correct ? Also I'm thinking maybe the Allen bolts that hold the window in place could be loose enough that the drivers side isn't going down like it should. Is this something that has been an issue ?

Yah that was the first thing I tried was resetting them. I did have to change the battery when I bought the car. I'm just trying to see which side is wrong so I can take the panel off and take a look.
Took the door panel off today to check the window. Window is tightly secured and it sounds like the window motor is trying to make the window drop but the window just isn't moving down. Any ideas ?
Dumb question here....
Both windows drop as needed, and then go up right?! It just has to drop enough to clear the window seal... Sure they might not go down "symmetrically", but it sounds like they work....maybe a motor was replaced or some other part is newer/different revision....till it does not WORK, I'd just let " sleeping dogs lie". Just me...

That's the thing is the drivers side sounds like it's going back down but the internals don't pull it down. After the sound of going through the drop the window drops maybe 1/8" by gravity I would assume. I've also noticed there is a delay between up and down or vice versa where there is slack being taken up somewhere.
