K&N Performance Intake Kit on N18?

Anyone have this on their MINI? It is for the R56 but I'm trying to see if there is any real reason it wouldn't fit the R60. I like the idea of an enclosed box (somewhat) for the intake.

Just installed on my 2013 N18 clubman, fitment could be better, the alum pipe is about 1/4" too short causing alot of tension to air box coupler. And the angle it enters turbo inlet pipe needs tweeked a bit, it works and seems to seal but could be made better.

Then you also have 3 lines with nothing to clip to as they are part of factory air box top, so far these lines seem to be ok alone but will watch for rubbing etc.

I'll be testing function in the morning. Post a pic of your motor and I can look for anything different.

I've had it on my R56 for about 3 months now. Fits OK. Sounds great. No audible hissing at idle or cruise, just at acceleration. I paid around 170 shipped for mine since it was on sale. Its not one of those super high end intakes, but for the price I'm happy. No idea if it'll fit an R60.

Also, it definitely does not add the 12HP K&N supposedly proved on the dyno, but I would buy it again.

I stand corrected. It's evidently 8.51 HP. And no, I didn't dyno, but I can logically conclude that it didn't add a significant amount of power for 2 reasons. First, my butt dyno felt no increase in any measurable way at all. And second, posters have time and again said that these types of intakes bring no power gain, because the OEM intake is technically a CAI to begin with. As a matter of fact, I'd wager to say that due to the fact the K&N filter is semi open in the engine bay VS the fully sealed filter of the OEM, the K&N will draw warmer air than OEM, *possibly* resulting in a loss of power if anything (that may be negated by the possibly larger amount of air the cone filter is ingesting).

...I just took my CAI (DDM brand) off to get my car smogged.
I can tell a difference w/ the stock intake back on. My car feels a bit sluggish. It may be in my mind, but I swear my car is faster/peppier with the DDM intake ...which by the way is almost identical to this KN version. ...i think they work.
