Was on my way home from the store yesterday and passed my last MINI (a 2011 Clubman) on the road. I'm confident it was the same car - white silver edition non-S with a vintage repro "Clubman Estate" badge in place of the original "Cooper" lettering on the back. Surprised me as I traded it in across town (30-40 miles away) and it apparently now belongs to someone in the next neighborhood over. Small world.

Made me a bit nostalgic for the Clubman... Love my current MINI, but it was an entirely different animal: flashier interior, navigation. I've always thought that if I was given the chance to get one of the ones I've had before back it would be the hatch I owned first, but that Clubman was pretty darn cool. If I had the money laying around I'd go leave a note on the window telling the new owner to get in touch if they ever wanted to sell it.

I once had the opportunity to buy back a '68 Fairlane I'd sold in fairly good condition (new paint, nice wheels, good interior). Made the mistake of going to look at it and was saddened to find the current owner hadn't taken care of it at all. Left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth for seeking out my old cars.

Anyone else ever see their old cars on the road or think about tracking them down?
