R56 Questions about buying a 2012 MCS
Questions about buying a 2012 MCS
Looking to buy a 2012 MCS Auto with less than 15k miles & had a few questions:
- Are these Xenon? https://i.imgur.com/wrSGkLw.jpg
- If there is a SPORTS button in the car, does that mean it comes with the Sports Package or is that standard in MCS?
- It doesn't have NAV but has this screen: https://i.imgur.com/n6ZbgwG.jpg
Is it NAV ready?
- Is $19k a good price? This thing pretty much has no optional equipment. Under warranty & carfax is clean.
Anything I should specifically check out?
thanks in advance

1) You do not have HID headlights. Those are the normal halogen ones.
2) That button is standard I believe. The Sports package includes uprated springs, wheels, and cosmetic items. The manual shifting auto is standard.
3) If you have that screen, you have Nav. What makes you think there's no Nav? The icon which is highlighted in the photo is the Nav icon. Is this a non-USA vehicle?
4) You should probably provide more photos of the vehicle. The price is inline with expectations for that year and mileage, but options will make a difference. Autocheck or Carfax can tell you if the title is clear. Epicvin.com will tell you if it's gone through auctions recently as a damaged vehicle.

Roughly a year ago, we bought a '12 MCS with auto and 16k miles. Bought it at a dealer, paid $24k total out the door (included tax, title, reg, etc). So $19k sounds about right. Dealer or private reseller?
You're speedo looks way different than mine. Just plug in your VIN here and see what options it has.

Re: NAV screen - Sorry I didn't have an actual interior photo so I grabbed that photo off autoblog.

Gotcha, here in AZ there is no sales tax on a private sale. Added almost $2k to my purchase. You'd still be under warranty, but I would still consider a pre-purchase inspection at a mini dealer or indy. Carfax in not necessarily all that accurate. I've got my own horror story on that one..
