Interior Trim Vinyl, paint or replacement?

So I'm trying to figure out what to do with the bland gray trim around the speedo's, air vents etc... I've seen some people paint them, others suggest vinyl or just replace them. I'm wondering what others have done. My intention is to have black trim to go with my white and black theme in the car. I have no intention of ever selling my mini so whatever I do can be permanent. Here are my concerns for each of the different options.

I thought I saw a vinyl interior trim kit but can't find it anymore. It would be a great idea. The kit was 20 bucks but I can't find it anymore. Has anyone done this? how did it turn out? Do you remember where you got it?

Paint is easily available, cheap and I've already painted several interior pieces. Only thing is it takes a while to dry and does have the possibility to come out crappy. (In learning the proper painting method I've had to redo several pieces but I've got a pretty good handle on this now)

Replacement trim. Very hard to find just plain black. I haven't been able to find much in the way of replacement black trim, and those that I have found are extremely expensive. 200 bucks for just a replacement speedo?! It's a little crazy. Has anyone seen cheaper replacement plain black trim??

Just curious what options other people have done to customize your interior trim while I debate the best way to go.
