Preset Buttons

There may need to be a whole thread for found features, but here's something I noticed this morning. The six preset buttons underneath the display are actually touch sensitive. If you run your finger over them, the top line of the display will show you what you currently have the button programmed for. This is for the XL/Navi display. I don't know if its true for the standard display.

They work just exactly like the ones on my 2014 328i and my mom's 2013 X3. I've always thought it was really cool - especially since you can program specific functions in (i.e a set view on the navigation system) and not just radio presets.

For all the moaning that's going on about the BMW-ization of MINI, I find the upgrades to be excellent.

Didn't know that, thanks. An expert from the dealer spent 20-30 minutes showing me what this system can do. He may have pointed this out while I was thinking about other stuff he had just showed me. He said a Rolls royce owner had turned down a demonstration because it worked just liked the system in his Rolls -- another BMW division.

I have to agree. I know there are those who just love the quirkiness of the "old" MINI, but the new one is just so loaded with neat features. I've had my MINI S for a week and a half now and every day I find something very unique and useful. Well done, MINI! Well done, BMW!
