Mandy (for mandarine orange) is home! Just want to share my experience. It was a 10 day wait for me. I intended to order, but was shown an inventory car coming to the dealership. It was almost identical to what I was looking for. The only thing I didn't get is the cornering light. It was already on a ship when I placed my deposit.

As promised, there were no add-ons from the dealership. I paid MSRP. I wasn't able to use the USAA incentives because after my downpayment, another bank was able to give me a much lower APR and it was more cost effective to go with them. Yes, my one big win is the free tint! It was installed while I was doing my paperwork, so I didn't have to come back. Got it with 6 miles on it.

The first mod I did was replace the antenna with the short antenna. Well, the dealership installed it for free! (I guess that's a small win haha).

There are already a lot of reviews. This is my first mini, so my review would probably worthless. One thing for sure, I love this car. My wife and daughter love this car too.


P.S. I am a fashion photographer... I will definitely do a fashion editorial shoot with this car haha.

Got my red MCS yesterday. Mine is the 3rd MINI I've ever sat in. Thought about the stubby antenna but not sure of the benefits -- probably better at a car wash, but poorer reception?

what's the size difference between the two antennas? is the stock one that big?

 

WHAT?! I hoping to get mine before I head out of town for a 10 day work trip. Driving the 3/4 truck is killing me on gas (diesel)

 

The stock antenna (11") is not tall enough for me to spend money on a stubby. It is much smaller than the R56 antenna. Of course a month from now I could change my mind.

 

Reception is about the same. Looks are the benefit.
