As an older guy, I associate racing wheels on Mini's with the old Minilite 8 spoke magnesium wheels. Are these available for the new Mini? In 17"?

 

Yes they are! Check with Moss Motors, under sponsors/vendors. They are advertised in their catalog. I think they are available from some other places too, but require a bit more research.

 

Moss motors has Panasport wheels, which are look-a-likes, but do have some interesting features. Moss carries only the silver. The FC16 comes in colors, and the Panasport.com site shows them for a Mini Cooper in yellow and blue, but no info, prices. Has anyone seen these colored wheels in a catalog or web site? Those yellow wheels would look good on the Black Eye Purple!

I didn't know they still made actual Mini-Lites, but I saw them advertised in Go Mini magazine over the weekend.

They have a variety of wheels (aluminum as well as magnesium), but I could only find them up to 15" on their website:

I just picked up my new MCS last week and began calling around for a vendor that had Panasports in stock. Everybody was out. In fact most vendors don't carry the wheel in stock, they drop ship direct from Panasport. Tim at Dave Turner Motorsports got back to me, saying that Panasport USA was out of the 16", 40 et rims and that they (Panasport) did not expect a new shipment for two months. Bummer. My dealer will take my Slites off my hands for $600 when my mini's new shoes come in...

Yes, sports fans, the real, original MINILITE wheels are available for the new MINI ! :smile:

They are made in 15", 16" and 17" sizes, in various widths. Standard colors are Silver, Black or White. Optional colors are Anthracite and Gold.
