I'm officially getting my MINI-S Thursday morning!

Well, the replacement oil filter housing arrived at my dealership and was installed yesterday. I will be driving up to the dealership Thursday morning at 10:00AM to take delivery. It's been an emotional roller coaster ride since it arrived at my dealership on 3/24 (see other thread for details), but the wait is just about over. My dealership (New Country MINI in Hartford) has been awesome in doing their absolute best to keep me as happy as possible as they had no control over the delayed delivery. They even stored my MINI indoors at their old showroom across the street, snuggled in amongst a few $135K BMWs.

I will post reviews, impressions and lots of photos between Thursday and the weekend, so check back. Also, if anyone wants photos of specific areas of my MINI, just let me know and I'll be happy to post them up. I'm going to take a photo of my MINI alongside my MA's 2006 BRG MINI (Barnaby). I thought it would be a cool thing to do.

congrats, I imagine it was even more frustrating knowing your mini was sitting right there yet having to wait even longer. My MA needs to take some notes from yours, make sure you let him know what a great job he has done helping you out since there are plenty of other out there not nearly as helpful. I never thought getting a mini would be such a significant emotional event but thus far I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning. Almost there.

Again congrats, look forward to hearing your experience and seeing those pics.

Mike

Thanks Mike. And we all need to give our MAs a word of praise (even to their sales manager) when they've done exceptionally well, as mine has done. I have told my MA numerous times that he's done a fantastic job. I told his sales manager, too.

Hey Bob, that's awesome. I've been following your progress and stoked your are finally getting your MCS BRG Thursday. Your pictures a couple of weeks ago made me realize I made the right decision in getting the BRG color --- my MCS is waiting at the doc in South Hampton and should arrive in California in early May. Can't wait to see your pictures. Thanks again for sharing your experience. This is going to be my first Mini.

Can't wait to see pics! I've seen very little interior pictures with your combination: brown leather + wood.

AGREED! I have gone through the MINI-wait three times now, and am very appreciative of the folks who made it possible at Patrick MINI and MINI of DesMoines

Congratulations and Happy Motoring, CobraBob

Tom, I think mine might be the second here, but I'm honestly not certain.

To everyone who posted, thanks for your well wishes. It's really hard to believe that is less than 2 days I'll be cruising around in my very own MINI. My first MINI, too. I'm going to use my "real" camera for photos. It's a higher end camera so I am hoping that the photos I take will have excellent quality. But I'll let you all be the judge.

I will definitely take a few interior photos for you.

By the way, did you buy yours from Prestige MINI in Ramsey?

Yes I did, I placed the order on April 5th, it went into production on the 10th and I just got off the phone with a customer service rep. on 1-866-ask-mini and she told me it's in the body shop with a projected finish of April 18th! Prestige Mini has been great to deal with to date, very fair.

When I initially was going through USAA, I was contacted by Prestige MINI. They were over 2 hours away so they weren't an option for me. The salesman, however, was super nice. My impression was that they are a great dealer. One I would definitely visit if I was in that area. Great choice!

Terry

You'll be 5 mins from my neck of the woods. Was debating on going out there myself with the kiddo (AFTER I pick up my F56 on Sat).

Bob,

We are still kids deep down, the toys are just bigger and faster now.
Have a grand day tomorrow.
