Another pump bites the dust

I had trouble starting my CMS all4 last week and the dealership replaced high pressure fuel pump under warranty. I have almost 29,000 miles and never had any low power warnings or anything like that.

But on Thursday I started the car and it sounded awful ... about 10 seconds of lugging and then the check engine light came on. I gave it a little gas to see if that would help and it stalled right out.

When I started it back up, it sounded normal. The CEL disappeared after about 10 more seconds and it drove just fine after that. I pulled the codes with my Torque app and got a P15DF - powertrain' error.

The service tech said they don't use 'P' codes and the code didn't mean anything, but after some testing, he said the hpfp pressure was below spec. He replaced the pump with part # 13517592429 and the hose assembly with part # 13517592428. As I understand it, that's the new part number from the 2012 redesign.

Seems to be running fine now, and we'll see how it goes. I also got an oil change, brake flush, cabin filter and new wipers out of the visit.

Let me get this right.

Did they remove & replace your high pressure fuel pump with a new HPFP twice within 2 weeks?
