Last year I bought a 2013 Mini JCW hardtop. About 6 months later I decided to trade in the car for something a little more practical. However after owning the mini I kept reaching for more performance. After the mini I bought a 2014 subaru STI and 2013 Nissan 370z. Both were passion buys for sure but they scratched my performance need. After a few more months I decided that the STI was just too raw for me so I traded it for a 2014 Audi S4 which has been spectacular. I'm sure not many people have gone through my crazy experience but I'm wondering if some decided to trade in their JCW for a more focused performance car? By the way I didn't get rid of the JCW because of the performance but because I just needed a bigger more practical car. I have the tendency to buy with my heart not always with my mind.

 

I have been a MINI fan since I bought my 2003 MCS. I sold that and bought a 2012 JCW. I love the car for autocross but after this season I will be selling it and getting something else, likely a Porsche Cayman S. I have a 2004 BMW 330i and the sound that the inline 6 makes with magnaflow exhaust is so much nicer to listen to while driving than the MINI 4 cylinder. I don't think there is much you could do to the MINI exhaust to give the sound of more cylinders and displacement. But like I said, as my autocross car its perfect.
