Does 2013 & 2014 Countryman in USA are built in Austria, India or Thailand? I saw this on the internet that says

Austria....contract production....other factories are not yet a reality...or at least for north american sales.

 

The Countryman for North America is built in the Magna Steyr plant in Austria. The BMW/MINI India production plant is primarily to offset the increasing export taxes incurred by not having a plant in the region. I read the intent was not to export those to North American.

 

Steyr has been around building BMW's for a while. According to Automotive News Europe, Paceman and Countryman production will move to Oxford in 2016.
